Organophosphine/phosphite-stabilized silver(I) complexes bearing N-acetylbenzamide ligand: synthesis, characterization and potential application in metal organic chemical vapor deposition (pages 323–329)

Xian Tao, Ke-Cheng Shen, Qing-Yun Tang, Meng Feng, Jiang-Tao Fang, Yu-Long Wang and Ying-Zhong Shen

Article first published online: 21 JUN 2012 | DOI: 10.1002/aoc.2863

New N-silver(I) acetylbenzamide complexes of type LnAgNC9H8O2 were prepared. The molecular structure of 2b has been determined by X-ray single crystal analysis. New N-silver(I) acetylbenzamide complexes has a four-membered ring, which could influence their chemical and physical properties and modulat the volatility. Metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) experiments were carried out successfully at 400 °C and 450 °C using 2e as precursor for the deposition of silver films, respectively.

Double Suzuki cross-coupling reaction of pyrimidine boronic acid: synthesis of new versatile dielectrophile (pages 330–334)

Muhammad Moazzam Naseer and Shahid Hameed

Article first published online: 6 JUN 2012 | DOI: 10.1002/aoc.2865

An efficient palladium-catalysed double Suzuki cross-coupling reaction of heteroarylboronic acid with aromatic dibromide provided dielectrophile with alkoxy side-chain and two reactive chlorides. The reactivity of this dielectrophile was exemplified by reaction with aniline and phenol, both a nitrogen and oxygen nucleophile, respectively.

Synthesis of bis-N-alkyl imidazolium salts and their palladium(0)(NHC)(η2-MA)2 complexes (pages 335–341)

Dorette S. Tromp, Peter Hauwert and Cornelis J. Elsevier

Article first published online: 21 JUN 2012 | DOI: 10.1002/aoc.2866

New N-Alkyl-substituted imidazolium salts as well as a series of their corresponding [Pd(NHC)(MA)2] complexes have been obtained by three routes in good yield. The previously reported synthesis for the analogous N-aryl substituted [Pd(NHC)(MA)2] complexes has been improved. The N-alkyl-substituted [Pd(NHC)(MA)2] complexes are thermally more labile than their N-aryl counterparts.

Palladium-catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura coupling with aryl and heteroaryl bromides using N,N,N′,N′-tetra(diphenylphosphinomethyl)-1,2-ethylenediamine (pages 342–346)

Kun Wang, Tao Yi, Xiaojun Yu, Xueli Zheng, Haiyan Fu, Hua Chen and Ruixiang Li

Article first published online: 6 JUN 2012 | DOI: 10.1002/aoc.2869

An easily synthesized tetraphosphine (1) was successfully used in the Suzuki-Miyaura reaction of aryl and heteroaryl bromides. A high turnover number of 750,000 was achieved at palladium loading as low as 1 ppm. The catalytic system exhibited good stability and longevity, and a broad scope of substrates was tolerated.

Novel tetradentate diamine dioxime ligands: synthesis, characterization and in vivobehavior of their 99mTc-complexes (pages 347–355)

Marija Mirković, Drina Janković, Sanja Vranješ-Đurić, Magdalena Radović, Dragana Stanković, Dušan Mijin and Nadežda Nikolić

Article first published online: 21 JUN 2012 | DOI: 10.1002/aoc.2870

Two novel diamine-dioxime ligands, 4,7-diaza-3,8-diethyldecane-2,9-dione bis oxime and 4,9-diaza-3,10-diethyldodecane-2,11-dione bis oxime, were synthesized in order to develop new brain perfusion imaging agents, based on 99mTc(V)-complexes. A significant brain uptake of 99mTc-complexes as diastereoisomeric mixtures was 2.1% ID and 1.8% ID, 2 min after injection. The present study suggests that both ligands are promising candidates as new 99mTc-based brain imaging agents.

Spectroscopic, thermal and antimicrobial properties of the copper(II) complex of Schiff base derived from 2-(salicylidene) aminopyridine (pages 356–361)

Gladiola Tantaru, Maria-Cristina Popescu, Veronica Bild, Antonia Poiata, Gabriela Lisa and Cornelia Vasile

Article first published online: 6 JUN 2012 | DOI: 10.1002/aoc.2872

Chemical structure of new Schiff Bases derived from 2-(salicylidene) aminopyridine and its Cooper(II) complexes was confirmed by elemental, spectral (IR, UV-VIS and 1H NMR) and thermal analyses. The antimicrobial activity was tested with S. aureus, S. aureus meticilin-rezistent, B. cereus, B. subtilis, E. coli, C. albicans, Klebsiella spp. and was compared with the activity of the reference drugs such as Chloramphenicol, Tetracyclin, Ophloxacin and Nistatine.

Synthetic and natural silica-aluminates as inorganic acidic catalysts in ring opening polymerization of cyclosiloxanes (pages 362–368)

Javier Vallejo-Montesinos, Antonio Villegas, Araceli Jacobo-Azuara, J. Merced Martínez, Eulalia Ramírez-Oliva, Araceli Romero-Izquierdo and Jorge Cervantes

Article first published online: 6 JUN 2012 | DOI: 10.1002/aoc.2873

Cationic Ring Opening Polymerization of hexamethylcyclotrisiloxane and octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane was performed using acid treated silica-alumina as inorganic acidic catalyst obtained by a simple route from precipitation of aluminum sulfate solutions. Natural bentonite was applied for the same purpose.

The hydration of nitriles catalyzed by simple transition metal salt of the fourth period with the aid of acetaldoxime (pages 377–382)

Xiaoyun Ma, Ying He, Pengcheng Wang and Ming Lu

Article first published online: 21 JUN 2012 | DOI: 10.1002/aoc.2876

An efficient method for selective hydration of nitriles into amides by employing acetaldoxime and simple transition-metal catalysts in water is described. Heterocyclic nitriles with heteroatom lone pair positioned ortho to the nitrile group show high reactivity and could even be hydrated by catalyst and water in the absence of acetaldoxime.
